Consumer
Tigmus is the Airbnb for live music. With Tigmus, artists can discover where their fans are and book gigs and tours in the right places at the right times; all in just a few clicks. Tickets for these gigs are then promoted and sold via the Tigmus platform. This innovative 360 degree solution is designed to give a better deal to artists and fans alike.
Tigmus was founded by musicians, for musicians. Our two co-founders - Oli Steadman and Tom Hodgson - play in internationally renowned UK indie band Stornoway. With three UK top 20 albums and several world tours under their belt, Oli and Tom recognised the need for a new way of booking live music.
The Business
The music industry is in a phase of rapid change, creating opportunities for innovative start-ups. Sales of physical albums have fallen; digital sales are declining. Free streaming services are rocketing but deliver limited income to musicians. As a result, musicians have turned their attention back to live performance. In the UK alone this market is now worth £789m, having grown 28% in 2014. Tigmus (“This Is Good MUSic”) has developed a web platform to exploit this opportunity.

Music
Tigmus crosses industry boundaries, connecting the entertainment sector to technology and the sharing economy. Relatively wealthy nations such as the UK are spending more on events than on items. Tigmus is poised to benefit.
Tigmus' management team knows their way around the music industry and has earned respect as a talent and for business. People like to work with successful artists.
Tigmus is an early mover, which is critical for this industry. The company can also benefit from network effects -- so the more musicians and venues it can sign on, the better. Tigmus has a good start.
